Foam Pigs

Foam Pig – Soft Density

1.5 lbs/ ft3 (white) and 2.0 lbs/ ft3 (black) lightweight open-cell polyurethane foam pigs are used for drying or swabbing on short runs. They are also referred to as swabs or squeegees. The pig will traverse all obstructions and bends that occur in piping systems in addition to experiencing a diameter reduction of 65%.

Shape: Standard cylinder, Bullet nose

Style: Bare, Standard Urethane coating on one end, both ends coated, criss-cross coating, fully coated, with pull rope on one end, with pull ropes from both ends.

Sizes: Standard sizes- see chart below. Standard lengths are typically 1.5 times the Outside Diameter.

Foam Pig – Medium and Hard Density

Constructed from open cell flexible polyurethane foam molded into various shapes and lengths.

Medium Density: 3.0 lbs/ft3 to 4.0 lbs/ft3 bottoms painted with Yellow Polyurethane.

Hard Density: 5.0 lbs/ft3 to 7.0 lbs/ft3 bottoms painted with Red Polyurethane.

Shape: Standard Bullet Nose- used in single direction runs, Bi-Directional Cylinder (Double Dish)- used when two directions are to be traversed without leaving the pipeline and are available in a scraper, crisscross, fully coated or bare style.

Style: Bare- used for drying and mild cleaning on runs up to 15 kms, Criss-Cross- used for wiping, light removal of paraffin and sediments, with the crisscross pattern creating a scraping effect, Fully Coated- used for drying and mild cleaning where extended service is desirable and 5% of H2S and CO2 are present in the piping system, Criss-Cross Wire brush- are equipped with helical bands of silicone carbide or hardened steel brush for removal of paraffin, scale and other waste materials.
