Specialty Pigs
Soluble Pigs (Water and Oil)
Solid sphere shaped balls or cylinder shaped plugs. OIL-SOLUBLE type pigs (for oil systems) contain micro-crystalline wax, paraffin inhibitor and pour point depressant. WATERSOLUBLE type pigs (for water systems) contain a water-soluble surfactant and corrosion inhibitor.
PRODUCT USES & ADVANTAGES – Used to clean out paraffin deposits and other unwanted accumulations inside of pipes. The oil-soluble types contain a paraffin inhibitor and pour point depressant. The residual traces of inhibitor help prevent re-deposition of paraffin for a short period of time. The pour point depressant helps the oil that contacts the pig flow easier at lower temperatures. They can be used in any length lines. The ball type pigs can go around 90º turns that may stick rubber or plastic pigs and are very inexpensive as compared to rubber or plastic pigs or hot-oil treatments. Pigs do not interfere with other production and pipeline chemicals.
PL Cups and Discs
are made of Neoprene and are used for cleaning and batching applications. Assembly in single or multiple units makes them very versatile and they can negotiate severe radial bends. PL Cups are not recommended for exposure to aromatics or hydrogen sulfide. Available sizes are 2”, 3” 4” and 8”.
Bullet Cup Pigs
Made from Buna (Nitrile) or Neoprene. Available hollow or solid filled construction and are used in place of or in conjunction with pig balls.
Pig Balls
Also called Spheres and available in numerous configurations. They are made from Neoprene, Buna (nitrile), Urethane, Natural Rubber, Medium and Hard Density Foam. The Foam balls can be fully coated, criss-cross or wire brush and are used for scraping and sweeping of lines. The standard color for Neoprene and Nitrile balls is black, but these are available in numerous colours and number branded for identification. Not banned by the ERCB, just not the most effective method of scraping or cleaning-but many times the only option. Inflatable Spheres are also available-Made of Polyurethane or Neoprene and are available in several durometers ranges. Spheres are completely filled with liquid (glycol and water) and will pass through out-of-round pipe, pipe of varying wall thickness, short radius bends and other obstacles difficult for conventional pigs to pass.ure to aromatics or hydrogen sulfide. Available sizes are 2”, 3” 4” and 8”.
De-Cocking Pigs
These unique parts are used in removing coke deposits and descaling hard caked debris within your lines. They are available in various sizes and several configurations. Foam Pushers or Bald Foam- Hard as possible foam with our unique abrasion skin. Foam Studded- Available with Carbide Studs, or our regular Studs. Bald Urethane- Urethane coated inner foam core with no studs. Urethane Studded – Available with Carbide Studs or regular studs. Various colors available in many sizes- 1/8” increments.
